CADELEIGH EVENTS

FLOWER SHOW - 15 AUGUST 2020

Hello to everyone in Cadeleigh and beyond.

As you probably know, after many years of organising the Flower Show brilliantly, Margaret Noon and Linda Wood stepped back last year and we agreed to take it on – with some trepidation. Little did we realise that our first year would be made all the more difficult because of a dangerous virus and consequent restrictions. We have spent a lot of time considering how we could still ‘hold’ the Flower Show in some way as we understand how important it is to the community, and how very important community is - especially at the moment. We have come up with an idea that we hope will appeal to you all, and work with the restrictions we have. We very much hope that you will find time to get busy and enter as many categories as you can.

The show is really split into two. We believe many of you have been using lock down to tackle and tame your outdoor spaces, so we have devised 6 categories which will celebrate your hard work in the garden, and show off your fruit, vegetable and flower growing skills. The other categories encompass a range of arts and crafts with, hopefully, something fun for everyone. Each of these arts and crafts categories will have separate adult and child classes – please read the rules for more information.

Entrants for garden classes will be invited to open their gates for the afternoon of Saturday 15th August for people to come and admire – staying safely socially distanced, of course. Arts and Craft exhibits will be displayed online and, if possible, on notice boards and windows around the village hall.

We very much hope you will be enthused by our ideas and look forward to being inundated by entries over the coming days.

Lisa Hobson and Katie Rice.

PS. If you have a cup from last year, could you please return it/them to Lisa Hobson, Bartons, or Katie Rice, Deer Cottage, by Saturday 8th July. If this is a problem, please contact Lisa – 01884 855560 to arrange collection. Thank you.
